In der unberührten Wildnis Tasmaniens lauert mitten im friedlichen Urwald ein wirbelndes, gefrässiges, kleines Teufelsbiest namens Taz. Für ihn besteht der Sinn des Lebens im Feiern von Partys. Um sich das Geld für seine Parties zu verdienen, arbeitet Taz am liebsten als Kellner - da bietet sich nämlich ständig Gelegenheit, ein Häppchen zu erhaschen. Taz hat auch ein Herz. Natürlich ist es ein teuflisch-ungestümes Herz, aber es ist gross genug, um ihn dazu zu treiben, seine Familie zu lieben. Taz ist das älteste von fünf Kindern und hängt sehr an seiner Familie. Vor allem seinem dreijährigen Bruder Jake demonstriert er mit Vorliebe, was ein richtiger tasmanischer Teufel ist.
