Comedian Larry David und der frühere US-Präsident Barack Obama betrachten geschichtliche Ereignisse wie die Schlacht von Alamo 1836 und den Bau der Berliner Mauer 1961. Im Wandel der Jahre greift ein wenig angenehmer Zeitgenosse namens Larry ins Geschehen ein, obwohl er sonst am Rande steht.
