Die fünfköpfige Londoner Spezialeinheit “Cold Case Unit” um Superintendent Peter Boyd aber handelt “Im Auftrag der Toten” und gibt sich erst zufrieden, wenn ein vermeintlich nicht mehr aufzuklärender Mordfall gelöst und der Täter einen Namen bekommen hat. Wenn es jemand schaffen kann, Mörder Jahre nach der Tat zu überführen, dann sind sie es. Mit modernster Ermittlungstechnik, forensischen wie psychologischen Verfahrensmethoden trotzen sie der Vergangenheit ihre Geheimnisse ab. Doch wer die Dinge nicht ruhen lässt, lebt gefährlich, denn die Täter sind noch auf freiem Fuß und könnten wieder zuschlagen, wenn man ihnen zu dicht auf die Spur kommt.
