Das frisch gegründete „Tactical Response Team“ (TR) ist eine taktische Spezialeinheit, die nur zur Vorbeugung von Straftaten und nicht zu ihrer Ermittlung eingesetzt wird. Für die Polizisten um die Sergeants Lawson Blake (Rodger Corser) und Brendan ‚Josh‘ Joshua (Callan Mulvey) geht es darum, schnell zu reagieren um die Durchführung von Verbrechen und andere Gefährdungen für die öffentliche Sicherheit bereits im Entstehen zu verhindern. Neben dem fordernden Berufsalltag sorgen auch noch die Tatsache, dass die Neugründung sich erst noch beweisen muss, sowie die Bestellung einer neuen Chefin für Stress.
