Der ehemalige FBI-Agent Ryan Hardy bekommt die schwierige Aufgabe, den aus dem Gefängnis entflohenen Serienmörder Joe Carroll erneut einzufangen und ihn sicher wieder hinter Gitter zu bringen, wo ihn ganz sicher die Todesstrafe erwartet.
