Los cuentos del guardián de la cripta es una serie animada destinada a los niños creada por Nelvana Limited. Se mostró en YTV en Canadá y en ABC en los Estados Unidos. En Canadá, todavía se transmite cerca de Halloween en Teletoon . Se basa en el programa de televisión de acción en vivo, Historias de la cripta , que se emitió simultáneamente en HBO . Historias del guardián de la cripta estaba dirigido a los niños y esta serie fue significativamente más suave que la versión de HBO y toda la sangre y el gore eran completamente omitidos con el fin de apuntar a la audiencia infantil. La serie fue cancelada el 10 de diciembre de 1994. En 1999, el espectáculo volvió al aire como "Nuevas Historias del guardián de la cripta". La animación era diferente de la de los episodios anteriores y se cambió a la Teletoon de Canadá, y a CBS en los Estados Unidos.
